Car was 71 satellite with 318\904 and a/c. Trying to decide what to order for current 360/904 combo with dual elec fans. Should I get a 2, 3, or 4 core? I believe it's a 22" radiator.

2, I'd get a 3. Maybe not so much if you're up north. Oops you're in Fl, get a 3, 4 gets too crowded to cool.

Radiators have 1 core.
Radiator cores have rows of cooling tubes (1, 2, 3, 4, etc.).
The stock '71 b & e-body 318/904 with A/C is a 26" radiator (#3443969) & has 2 or 3 rows of tubes.

A modern 3-row high fin count or aluminumn radiator should be enough for a mild 360 cruiser. If your engine currently runs hot (high compression/overbore), is used in "extreme" manners (towing/high RPM driving or cruising), with the A/C on (is it still there?), or you just want that extra mental peace - go with the 4-row.

Ok, thanks guys. I was leaning towards a 3 or 4 row. Don't really have issues with cooling but the original radiator is about at it's end and I think a new aluminum rad is a nice long term preventative investment. I dumped the stock flex fan so I have plenty of room for a 4-row radiator. A/C is currently inop but will be running soon courtesy of classic auto air. I think I'll go with the 4-row. Car is just a cruiser.

Thickness of the rows and overall core matters a lot. Most/many aluminum radiators have 2 very deep rows. Mine has two rows one inch thick each and works great.

If overall thickness gets much over 2 or 2 1/2" air flow suffers a lot and cooling may not get better.

At the other extreme, some re-pop 3 or 4 row copper radiators have very thin rows and cool poorly.

I was looking at the Champion radiators from user JohnGottaDemonDad in the for sale section here.

When measuring a radiator is it the distance across the core, or is it completely from edge to edge of the radiator?
