mopar big block 3 bolt timming chain i have baught two brands of timming sets the last one is a cloyes . both of them have the 9 way key billet sprockets. Prolblem is they both spin free on the crank snout without the moom key in. Never seen anything like this.. There is no slight pushing it on the crank is simpley falls to the bottom of the snout. STUMPED even tried it on a old steel crank same response. please help

Everyone i have put in was a little snug going on not falling srtight down on the bottom of crank when you let go of the gear.

how does it fit on the key , is there play in the keyway slot ? The gear is held in place by the keyway and the pressure of it being squeezed beyween the balancer and the register it sits against on the crank , if it is not loose wit hthe key in place I don't see the problem ...

That being said you have less material with all those key slots , some do not like them...

There is very very little play when the gear is over the key maybee once the damper is pulled tight it will be fine. i still have not had this problem with any outher mopar before but i never have installed a 9 way gaer eather. thanks for your response.
