Has anyone heard ANYTHING on either Fram making more OR someone reproducing these?
They are still selling for 'stupid' $$$ on "Feebay" ...........

I have been watching a couple of them on eBay also, but i don't see them selling.
See them advertised in the $275.00 dollar, + or -
range. Don't think buyers are paying.
I watch the auctions, as i have one sitting on the storage shelving, and i like to see what they might be bringing to a seller.

I'd like to see another run of the standard aftermarket filters. I was paying $15/each for them back in the late 90s. I still have two unused filters on the shelf. The price they were getting for the "correct" ones was a lot too high.

I don't know what the difference between the correct ones and the lookalikes. I remember seeing 4 rows of holes on some and 3 rows of holes in the metal on others. I have no idea which is correct.

Seriously? I better try to keep mine clean. I thought $75 was too much when I bought it 5 years ago.

I bought one of the K&N 1980 and put the correct-looking reproduction in a box, hopefully they make another run.

Nope.
Fram has been the only manufacturer for them for ages.

Side topic, bit of trivia if of any interest, but I once worked at Siemens at their automotive induction and intake manifold division in Tilbury, Ontario, Canada. They told me it used to be a Fram facility way back then. They still had all the original drawings for the six pack / bbl and Hemi air cleaner assemblies, as they designed the assemblies for Chrysler not just the filters. Today it's a Mahle facility, Mahle bought that division from Siemens.

Cheers,
Mike

not to be a whiner but
Why exactly is this thread in the general section and not the tech or restoration section?

There had been some talk (On THIS forum) that either another "run" of these was in the works (Fram?) or someone had information that "someone" was working on 'Re-Popping' the filters. Just simply wanted to know if anyone had heard of any news on this much needed restoration component?

I have one K&N and one Blue one like it can not remember who makes the blue ones. I cut the blue one down so it fits in my MR Norm type Tri-Power air cleaner

I am aware of the same info, and I haven't heard a thing in some time.
