Are you sure? 6 bolt flange flywheels and flexplates interchange between the 340 and 440, why not a converter. Both can use the 10" flexplate. Tonight drilled out the holes on a small block 10" flexplate larger to use a Hemi converter on a 440 w/727 trans combination.

The balance is different between the 2 balancers. The balancers and torque converters are balanced for their apps. The flexplates are neutral..

MP used to sell the convertor weight package with instuctions for all the cast crank motors and the 440-6. You'd have to grind the old weights off your convertor and spot weld the new ones on. Dave

what they said , 340 cast has it's own specific balance weight.

You could knock the weights off the converter and then use the appropriate flexplate from B&M. http://www.summitracing.com/parts/BMM-10235/
