I've looked at different posts, but haven't found a definitive answer. Because of the angle plugs, is there a problem using stock '68-'69 exhaust manifolds on Edelbrock 60929 big block heads?

You can look at Andy 's website for some good articles covering this
You could go to MP452 aluminum heads instead to get the same basic head with straight plugs

If you have not purchased the Eddys, buy the Mopar 452s

How do I access Andy's website?
I haven't purchased yet, that's why I need the info. I really like the idea of the Eddy heads, but I don't want to run headers.

The plugs for 6 and 8 angle toward the manifold , things get tight but it's doable , Andy did it.

Or spend a little more $ and buy the mopar 452 heads , straight plugs .

I have had no issues running the Edelbrock heads with the manifolda on my 68 runner. Bought them when they 1st came out. Loved them then love them now.

This picture was taken in 2000 when the Edelbrock heads first came out.

Last question; Is there a preferred (less expensive) supplier for the Eddy heads?

The 452 head is a better choice for exhaust manifolds. I eventually switched heads on my engine just to eliminate the issue with the spark plug boots.

When the Edelbrock heads came out I used them. When the 452 heads came out I switched. I have dyno tests and magazine articles covering both heads on my website. www.arengineering.com then click on tech articles.

Just a "heads up" (pun intended) that the MP '452' heads people are suggesting you use are more expensive than the standard Edelbrock heads.

I'll ask his question then ...

Andy...is the spark plug boot issue just when changing plugs and removing/installing the wires, or is it an issue of the boots being cooked by the manifolds. I am on a really tight budget and love the idea of the American made Eddies, but this is a street driven car and I don't need to make problems for myself.

boots are very close to the manifolds , cooking them would be the concern.

The boots are very close to the manifold. The car would run okay for awhile and then cook a boot. I kept a couple of spare wires with me. Once the power dropped off I just swapped on a new plug wire. It was no big deal for a Sat night cruiser but it would be a pain for a daily driver.
