To make a long story short, he called with another delay on the new reamer and said it was also ground wrong, I asked him, not to go anywhere for launch I would be right over...Picked it up, re-ground it at work by 1:30, and dropped it back off after work.... He called today and said the HEADS ARE DONE!!!!!! all the guides are sleeved, and all the seats have been re-cut for the new bigger valves... I will post pics later this weekend as the engine progress's. Never even offered a discount for fixing the reamer...then asked if I would do more of them. Funnyest thing I have heard all day.

If his work is good, it may pay for you to take care of him on the reamers, you get more with honey than vinegar. Tim
I wasn't able to inspect them when I picked them up, so that we will see later, I have to be careful at my place of work. I just happen to have access to some of the shop's resources.
I will keep it in mind. I still have an engine to tear down after the Hemi goes in where I need him to check the balance on the rotating assembly. That's not too far off, so he can wait a few weeks.

Nuther emergency...The inner head studs are 3/4" too short on the World Block. I need a different set ASAP!!! On a side note, the valve job was good, and we assembled the valves, springs, locks, seals, etc this morning without any issues. All springs are at the proper install height, and all the valves checked for seal with a vacuum set-up. Good to go on that end.

Keep chippin away at it and it will be in & running before you know it
Hopefully, in less time than Hemi-itis' motor. The rise and fall of the Roman empire took less time!!!
j/k, Al.
Which time??There have been several "waiting periods" BTW,the Roman empire took longer
I took the converter back out on Labor day for adjustment, hope to have it back next week
HEMI-ITIS has no cure. My condition is fully BLOWN!!

Its a little bitty 484....Wish it was a 605, but maybe for the next one.
What are you going to do with the motor? How much power are you shooting for? Are you going to race it?
Shooting for 700hp, and yes I will be racing it in two weeks hopefully.

In with the new....Its all assembled....We are still working thru a few issues. The biggest one is i did not have time to send the push rods out for holes in them to oil the tips of the rockers. My engine builder was thinking with the milder springs and cam, we should be safe without oiling thru them, but we are having second thoughts about the intake side of things after priming the motor...The tips were dry on the intake side. We will be thinking this over some more in the next couple of days. I want to prime it up and see for myself, and make a decision. The lifters are oil thru, and we read an article about motors with oiling thru the push rods don't have sqwat for oil pressure at idle. Right now, the exhaust side is good, so we could just do the intake side, dunno.
