Would anyone have an idea about how long the Hood Pin Cables should be for a 68 Charger? 23" or 25"? Also where would the cables mount to? Thanks for the help in advance!

To each their own, but the hoodpins and cables just don't belong on a '68 Charger. But as the old adage goes...it's your car...

Yes, I agree but I have a Glasstek fiberglass hood on it with a Pro Stock Hemi scoop (it sucks alot of air) and I'm concerned with the hood flying off at 125mph? Gotta come up with a solution...any idaes?

Here is a link to pics of a 69 Charger with factory installed hood pins (including one of the cable mounting location). It may be of help. As you probably know, hood pins were not available on a 68 Charger, so if you are looking for a factory appearance, pics of a 69 are as close as you will find.

Ok, now we have a whole different horse race! I would remove the inside bolt in the bump-stop bracket and put the pin there, then anytime down the road you decide to put the stock hood back on you can put the stock bolt back in. Then I would use a piece of string to determin the the length of cable needed.

Ahhh, very nice...great idea, thanks! I think for now I'll just go with the 'pins' and maybe leave the cables off! Should give a cleaner look with the '68 Charger Grill! We'll see? Thanks again!

i just put pins on my hood. i used the 69 1/2 a12 pins. the lanyards are only like 6 inches long, and connect right to the bezel. you'll never forget to put them on, as they are right there, when you shut the hood. i used the bump stop location as it was already there, and the position was perfect for the hood. you might want a third in the center of the hood. i saw a car at raceway park in nj flying through the traps, with the center of the hood lifted up like a "V", from the air getting under it. the corners were pinned, but not the center.
