I like the 295/275 combo, suites the big B-body.

I'm with you, but the owner doesn't want any issues with rubbing and prefers the 70's look. It's been tough enough just to convince him to have it sitting this low!! So it's narrower tires.

Are there any other options for wheel offset? There are guys running 275 all the way around on A-bodies with a little modification and the right setup. I would assume your Roadrunner should have more room for meat.

Remember this is a LX strut front and not a Roadrunner Got plenty of room, just hitting the LX spindle.

How much room do you have going to the fender?

Hoping to schedule some time in the next few weeks. Need to do a little finish welding and then put it up on the rotisserie and send it to media blasting.

How are things coming along with this build?? I have a new "drive" for mine to get started on. I talked it over with my wife this past weekend and she is on board {for the most part} with me on the idea of going about doing my Barracuda in this way.. Thanks for posting the pics and steps along the way.. They helped me out soooo much in convincing her..She is still reluctant and would prefer me having the $$$$ if I sold it now, but I told her IF I did, I WILL get another and it would be a driver that would cost more than she'd want me to spend..

Working on it this week. Will post pics in a few days.

Useless info. Just changed spools on the MIG. Put this on after I started the RR. I use a 30lbs. spool of .035 wire. Unwound that is 1.72 miles long. I have roughly 75 ft of welds in this car using almost 1-3/4 miles of welding wire. Ask me again why this is taking so long….

Not just the welding but all that grinding.

I hear ya. A friend of mine always says "a grinder and paint makes a welder what he ain't".. Then I showed him this project and your Cuda..He then said "I stand corrected".. 'Course, he's an electrician..

Scheduled for next week to start work again. Going to stay on it until it rolls to media!!

Hadn't really being staying on top of how long I've had this car. Time to push and finish it.

What does the customer think when no work is being done on their car? Just curios.

He knew from the beginning it would be something that we had never done and was told it would be worked on when I could. Price was accordingly. If you dropped this off and wanted it done in 3 months, expect to pay 60-80K plus. He was okay with when I could get to it!

I would have HAPPILY paid only $80k for my build! I think I got into some stuff you may not be doing though . I am liking this build a Lot, can't wait to see it driving

I too can't wait for more posts.. I've been pricing auction Chargers so I know whats in store.. Quick question.. here in NY, I was told, that if I buy a salvageable auction car, which isn't a problem as my uncle is a used car dealer, the state does a follow up on what happens with the car during a rebuild and follows up on the after salvage inspection. Do you have any issues with that being in FL? I guess they want to make sure where the vin coded parts end up.ie;body, engine, trans etc etc.

Back on this one this week. Got the bumper mounts done. I slugged the frame for a through bolt and then was able to weld in the outer frame panels. This will let me get this up on the rotisserie, finally, and finish welding up the bottom!

I know progress seems slow, but I only take a week at a time to work on this. This was a full day just making the mounts and welding the outer panels. The front end has to come off and back on three times!

It's looking very good.
Question - would you do this type of project again?
