Nice work. How is that apron going to work compared to the original?

The SRT apron is the support structure for the strut towers. It sits about midway under the fender. The close out panel I built attaches to it further in and provides the mount for the fender (the pic with the cardboard template). This works well, as I will be able to attach the SRT splash shield in the wheel well to the Road Runner fender.

This might give you a better idea. Panel is not attached yet.

Craig, this is just amazing work. What vehicle did the 'green' parts come from?
Thanks,
The parts that are green are from the SRT8. I epoxied everything after removing it (and painted the interior floor blue). The black parts are new SRT8 sheet metal, and the remaining red parts are from the SRT8 that didn't get epoxied yet. I'll go back and blast all the weld areas and epoxy everything again when done.

I'm trying!! Going to fit the rear section in the next week I hope. Need to get the suspension hung to measure for wheels. Lead time is 4-6 weeks to be custom built. Thank god I'm not on a deadline!

So when will the dimensional drawings of the suspension cradle be available?
It's all stock LX stuff. Don't think the cradle would help without the strut towers and stock LX suspension.

True, I was thinking that I could start with front end sheetmetal from a cheap 6-cylinder salvage and add SRT components later, and have the correct front end and interior sheetmetal in correct placement before I ever had to put out the cash for an SRT8 vehicle.

Okay, new questions. 1) Did you replace the front rails because they moved in relationship to the stock charger firewall, or because they were damaged? They look like they are in their stock placement after welding the replacements. 2) Since you used the stock 'set' of the suspension, I'm assuming the inner apron height is close to stock. Is that a correct assumption?
Thanks in advance!
1)Yes, the stock rails were damaged. I had them straightened on the frame machine and then built the jigs. They locate the front floor section, so I needed it tied into the RR before they could be replaced.
2)Everything from the SRT8 is stock and in the stock location. That's why jigs are critical. All suspension and mounts are in exactly the same locations. Nothing modified. The only modifications will be a shortened drive shaft and a little trim off the front floor sections' back to get the wheel base right.
The strut towers were removed to fit the floor section and because they have to come off to replace the rails.
