Wondering if anyone has any experience with carbon metallic brake shoes? I have a 66 Barracuda, Formula S, 4 speed pretty much original and would like to replace the brake shoes. I was thinking about these firm feel shoes but wonder if they're that much better than the regular ones. I just cruise the car, but like to fool around on windy roads from time to time. Any opinions?
Thanks. cuda273

About 5 years ago a shop had a customer with their disk pads and complained they didn't grab very good at all at low temps. The shop put cheapy pads on it, and the customer was happier. Was just a car customer cruised around in. Not even a canyon runner type deal.

Don't know if what they sell currently is the same as 5+ years ago.

Should ask Firm Feel what the pads are like when cold at low speeds.

Lots of experience with velevetouch and carbon metallic drum brake shoes. Years...

They work, they work well and you will not be disappointed in the braking response esp under duress. Be sure to do all 4 wheels. [Drums should be resurfaced with a light cut]

Look for on e bay for velvetouch shoes before going with the carbon metallic material. Call Sam Jr at Roch Clutch and Brake [585-232-3717] and see if he has those shoes in velvetouch for your car, he just might. He also may have an alternative material instead of the carbon met. This is not a for sale ad, just being helpful.
