I have used Hughes rocker arms in the past with great success the geometry is very good and they come with groved shafts, however Harland Sharp now offer an economy version of there rocker arms (sold through Mancini) that dont have needle bearings on the shafts. Has anyone used the Harland Sharps, is the geometry correct, would you just pay the extra for the Hughes?
Thanks Tim

Suggest asking same question on BigBlockDart.com

There's many there using the Harland Sharp and could provide details on how they perform.

I guess I would run the HS, they are the same rocker as their roller versions, just no roller bearings. Just run a bananna shaft and run them. I like my HS over the Hughes I have.

Is there a downside to the HS needle bearing rockers? Maybe a shaft issue? I have a set that I used to run on my 440 powered race car years ago, thinking of installing them on my street machine.

Years ago, there was an occasional problem with the HS roller bearings, but they fixed that with a better cage, and would replace the rockers if they were faulty. I have a set with roller bearings in my SB that sees 8000RPM, and a set in an RB "hot street" motor. I also have a set of their bushed roller rockers for my street-strip RB. Main thing with full rollers is to use hardened shafts. Their customer service is great, and I have no complaints with their products after 16 years of using them.
