I have a 69-1/2 A-12 Road Runner, build date 4-26-69. I purchased a six pack set up and wanted to verify if it is a 69 or 70. The aluminum Edelbrock manifold has a casting number of 3412046 which was used on the 69-1/2 cars, early 70, and Superbird Six Pack cars. The list numbers on the carbs are list 4391- date 1209 ,list 4393- date 0929 , and list 4394 - date 1019. There is an original 70-up non air grabber air cleaner that came with it. I guess some of the components could have been switched at some time, but was told this was an original set up. Any ideas?

What is the build date on your motor? The 426 date is not an accurate date.

I don't have the original engine. The car build date is April 26 1969.

I thought the M-code cars were only built on March 26 and April 26. Is that correct?

'69 A12 cars have a SPD (scheduled production date) of 329 or 426. The cars were actually built from mid-March 'til June. Here's a recent thread transmission date code? that gets into determining actual build dates from other info/dates that can be found on your car.

If you have the original fender tag, post the top line info & we can get you the most accurate date available.

I don't have the fender tag. I do have the build sheet.
Hard to read some lines, rust from the springs covered some numbers and letters. Sequence number B264441 order number 426949412

From that info - educated guess - RM23M9A2625xx
Actual in plant SPD of Monday, April 28, 1969
Probably built on Thursday, May 1, 1969

If you have your original K-frame, it should have a date around 4/30-5/1 in the format: 1209 1 OR 1219 1.

..... back to your original question - the intake: look for the "goofy" 6 in the part number.
here's a MOPARTS post with pictures.
The carb numbers you posted are for '69 440 4-spd cars with 0929 (Wed. 4/2/69), 1019 (Fri. 4/11/69), & 1209 (Wed. 4/30/69) dates. They sound to be almost "perfect" for your car.

the 046 is the correct part number for a '69 A12 Edelbrock aluminum intake manifold and the carbs are the correct part numbers and date range for an A12 with a second batch 4-26 Scheduled Production Date (SPD)

is there anything odd on the intake manifold 046 part number that you see Oops I see that was pointed out..

Dan,

Thanks for the info. Had this car since Dec. 1970. Being a dumb a-- kid traded original six pack engine and carbs for a Hemi. Changed K frame and a few wrecks later,ect.ect., you have heard this story before. Anyhow, kept car all these years, and trying to get parts together for a someday rebuild. Sounds like these carbs and manifold would be correct for this car. I wish the air cleaner was correct.

Best guess - WM23M9A307000 - "Holy late M-code Batman"
In plant SPD of Tuesday, July 8, 1969
Probably built on Thursday, July 10, 1969

Being that was the last week of "scheduled production", it may have been built even later. End of the model year & everything, I believe "schedules" weren't running like clockwork.
312487 (fender tag body sequence number) - 307000 (assigned VIN sequence number) = 5487 units "LATE"; during normal 1969 Lynch Rd. production that would be approximately 5+ days late (not 2 ).
I wonder if there were "blocks" of "sales bank cars" with assigned VIN#s that were available for end-of-year build outs, but never got built.

What components do you have with additional date help: engine, K-frame, b'cast? VON#?

If you registered that A12 road runner it would be the last or highest VIN on there as an A12 runner and right before this one that appears to be nine from the end of the A12 Bee's if the XXXXXX VIN's are really higher?

http://regcars.homestead.com/Car465.html

The last registered A12 runner...would be nice if you put it on the A12 Registry

I don't "chase" the A12s like others, but the highest M-code VIN#s I have are:

RM21M9A294953 (early June)
WM23M9A309928 (early July)

Been "chasing" them since the 90's and because of the two batch 3-29 and 4-26 SPD's it's nice to try and narrow down when an A12 "may" have come down the assembly line...still no guaranty when it was finished but kind of can guess a little on when the body may have rolled down most of the line.
