I am looking at doing a head swap this winter on my 69 Bee to make it more street friendly. The car has 13.5:1 compression with the old 516 heads on it. At $8 a gallon for race gas I have not driven it as much as I would have liked to. I have narrowed it down to either the Stealths or these. They are part number P5153524 and was wondering if anyone has used these and what they thought of them ?

Why the MP head?

It's an ede head with straight plugs.

The Dodge dealer I use at work can get me great price on them.

Yes, I've used them. I did a tech article for Mopar Muscle on them too. Look on my website in the tech article section. www.arengineering.com

I like the 452 heads. The straight plugs solve some issues that the Edelbrock heads have. My heads were sent to Jeff at MCH for his CNC porting work. They looked great and made good power on the dyno.

I ran them on my 505 with all the good stuff like the Jesel belt drive and RAS rocker arms. That was a great combo!

What cc are the 516's ? The MP heads are 84 I believe , will that lower your compression enough ?

I am wanting to say 75cc but it was 20+ years ago when I built this engine and I do not remember what they were for sure. But I figured living at 5800',aluminum heads and bigger chamber would help bring its need for 100 octane back to something closer to premium levels.

Thanks for the replies. Still a couple months away from doing anything.

Sounds like you can't lose on this proposition. I like your logic.
