Call gets you the owner's rep. Owner has several other A38s (and NOS parts). Was interested in the 73 Polara, but in pieces and $$$. Rep is semi-knowledgeable.

Nice 70. Seems to be trolling unless the price is right.

I believe the 69 LAPD Bel's got orange road runner engines.

I wonder if this 70 Bel has rear sway bar that is police spec only (LAPD only?).

While this 70 LAPD is cool, is it worth more than a 70 column auto B7 Road Runner in the same exact condition?

There would be a code for that on the data tag? Too bad the seller posted such a bad picture of the data tag.

Someone wants it and didn't want the rest of the world to see it so they flagged it away is my best guess .

IIRC Production date of this LAPD car is too early in the model year for the OE rear sway bar. Doesn't mean it wasn't added during its service life.

if the motor is the wrong color maybe it was a replacement---on our 69 plymouths when they got close to 70K they were sent into the plymouth dealer for a transmission replacement on warranty---some cars with over 100k would have engine issues and new engines were bought and replaced by our shops personnel---shops guys were strictly RnR guys- tires- lubes-tuneup-----even front end work was sent out----when the 69's were auctioned off city employees were not allowed to bid---i heard a guy bid the first car up to $169 and got it---the auctioneer offered one or all same price and this guy took every car--later heard he was a used dealer and he covered up the roof holes and A pillar holes with a vinyl roof and sold the hell of them---sadly a bunch had new trannys and new engines----oh well---took more than few 140MPH runs in them---and some claimed they were radared at 155mph--but i personnaly didnt see that....bob

I thought that started in 1969?

Would an 1970 N-code 383, a/c, auto, four door B-body non police car get a blue or orange motor.

Sort of surprised this car is an original A/C car. I thought most police cars in 1969/1970 were non A/C.

I think that is RK41NOA18xxxx

But is there a seperate option for pursuit duty like on later cop car that have A38 code. On those later cars you can get cop car with xK41 vins but not the handling stuff the A38 package has. But again, those are mid 70's police cars not 1970.

the 69 was non AC and also had drum brakes--the 70,s had air but i dont remember if they had discs yet--that may have come in 1971---for those that dont know the police package brakes were the biggest truck brakes made---they compared very well with the new discs offered by ford and chev and may have delayed the introduction of the discs...bob
