Any part numbers of a shelf stock type fuel filter for a 1970 440 six pack in a Super Bee ? I know it should have the correct vapor seperator, but just wondered if there was something available locally that would work and still have the vapor line extra nipple??

Thanks,

Arnie

I use Wix #33054 or Napa #3054 or Fram #G3499. Links below have pics. The Fram link has many other vendor part numbers, including Mopar/Autopar/Chrysler.

Thanks for the numbers!!!

Do you know if the vapor return line port is the correct size? If not i could always solder then drill out smaller... I think i was told it should be no bigger than .060" restricted diameter??

Thanks,

Arnie

Maybe some info here with 4-pages of discussion (and here's what I'm doing but with a '69 440 4-bbl but this came from my best friend who has this set-up on his '70 440+6 road runner so I would think it should work for you?) http://a12mopar.com/yabb/YaBB.pl?num=1324606912/45#45 WIX 33041 or NAPA 3041 Fuel filter with vapor separator

(If you can't open the link this is what I wrote)

Here's the set-up that's going on the 440. A Carter M6903 fuel pump (6.5 psi) with a NAPA 3041 fuel filter/vapor separator. Metal line out with a 90 degree fitting. The metal fuel line is used so it could be bent so the vapor separator could be angled with the vent return outlet at the highest point. For now the extra long rubber fuel line connecting the metal fuel line to the separator was left deliberately long so I can position the separator in the best position up or down.

Is it pointed in the right direction? Shouldn't the vapor return be on the bottom side? I have a Fram G3499 that I never used with the return coming out of the side of the barrel if you want it? I think it would work better than coming out the top?

Thanks Bill, after I get it all worked out, running and settled in I'll put the "CORRECT" clamps on the non-correct pump, filter, hoses and tubing...

John, good question but I thought I put the hose coming from the pump "OUT" on the "IN" or the -> arrow direction of the filter, I'll have to look again It sure would be better with the vapor line on the bottom

I don't know the return port size and don't have a spare one right now to look at. I can say it works fine in my 69 Charger 440 4bbl however I do not do any racing, just driving around and to car shows, cruises etc.

Perhaps this thread about return orifice sizes will be of help;

Glad to be of help.
