I'm almost positive that's true. I think it's the larger 727 yoke that will fit an 833 but I'm not positive on that as I am not a stick/clutch guy

OK, can i get away with, taking a 727 slip yoke an putting it on the np435 drive shaft that is already under my 2wd??? or will the drive shaft to to short or to long?? if its to long i can always have it cut no biggie... i was told i should be able to just find a 727/a833 slip yoke an do it that way but just want to make sure before i go all hands in lol ... got like 9 days to build the truck hahaha so just trying to get every thing lined up...

if it has a bolt on yoke on the trans or xfer... no

if it has a slip yoke like a regular 727 long tail shaft... maybe

best ting is to put the trans in,slide the yoke in till it bottoms out, measure from center of cups to center of cups on axle yoke, then subtract 1"

I just went thru this with my 727 swap,my stock shaft would have fit but i have a flip flop on the rear with mono leafs and lift bars.

my shaft came up 2" to long so I am waiting for it to get cut down some. if it was a stock specs it would have fit just right.

IMHO,it is best to measure it to be sure. little long can break stuff and a little short can cause vibs and stuff.

see on my last thread a guy said i should beable to use the drive line that was already in my 2wd, i would just need a conversion u joint?? i am loading the tranny up to day an taking it with me to the J/y to see if i can find the right slip yoke that fits it, the owner said he might have one off some old 727's.. i never really looked at the drive line that was under the 2wd lol, the truck is out at a budy's, like i said if the drive line is to long i can always get it cut no biggie, the problem is if its to short lol...

a NP435 should have a bolt on yoke on the output shaft of the trans, this needs a drive shaft with a spline shaft and a slip yoke that fits the slip splines.

a 904 or 727/833 use a drive shaft with a yoke that slide in the tail shaft of a trans.

you can not put the 727.833 yoke on a np 435 drive shaft..

if you have a 904/727/833 you need the correct size slip yoke with a drive saft that is built for that type of yoke.

slide your yoke all the way into the tail shaft till it bottoms out, measure from cup to cup and sbtract 1" for correct length shaft.

unless I am missing something.

what trans do you want to run in the 2x truck?
