Go to your local boat parts supplier and get a Morse boat cable, they have them in just about any length you want.Plus they have a nut on the end to position it(like the Lokar) through the fire-wall.The plus to them is they have very strong cable, the negative is they need to be close to the correct length or a little longer if they need to make a bend, stay away from sharp bends and you can't beat them.
The bad part about the Morse cables is that they are designed as a push/pull cable and are thicker in diameter and are HARD to get any fairly tight radius... they are great when you can have a BIG radius

Mr_P looking at the op carb. linkage, don't you think it would help most to turn the bottom arm on the linkage down like mine(its hard to see from picture I posted above)to straighten out the push-pull of the cable?

I'd have to go back and look BUT you want it to start just before 90* to the pulling force to give you the least effort to the most distance of travel... the ratios will dictate the amount of load against the pulling force and then the return springs.. since we HAVE to have 2 return springs AND the carbs already have return springs you dont need much for the 2 returns

Al, just a note of a problem we had with the braided cable. Since you have to use alot of pedal pressure it would cause the outer cable to pinch the inner one so the carbs didn’t open all the way. We had to go to the black cable.

Mike,I noticed the hole you use to attach to the carb is the lower one.I'm in the upper one, will that give a little more pull??I'm still short
That hole gives the correct ratio to open the blades all the way!The length from the pivot is kept the same on all.
