My friend who's '71 v-code Challenger R/T I'm working on now sent his carbs off to Holley themselves to have totally restored.. Physically, they came out gorgeous.. We haven't gotten to the point of starting the motor for the 1st time yet.. http://www.holley.com/CustomSpeedShop/Rebuild.aspScott can probably help out too. He did the original Carter AVS 4618SA for my Daytona. http://www.harmsauto.com/

Sheesh, no room to work in there either. One of Holleys not-so-great ideas. Just a thought, but perhaps you could go to the dollar store and buy one of their small screwdrivers, cut the flat-end off and put a drop of JB Weld on it. Put it in there carefully, let it set up, and try twisting it out a few hours later. I'd think it would come out fairly easy.................

First thing you need to do before anything else is to get rid of the old cork seal, over the years it gets rock hard and you end up breaking off one side of the screw.Just about every set I get to restore has at least one broken screw.I have a pilot to center drill the screw and made an extractor to get them out,I have about a 98% success rate so far and I have done a "lot" over the past 30yrs.It's not easy but can be done.
