I am sure it is simple however I have never mess with the wheel date codes. What is the date of this wheel.

Looks like Nov. 30, 1968.

On the face picture, there should be an 8 below the M5. On the picture of the hoop inside, it appears like the M5 over 8 is stamped (plant code & year)

There's probably another M5 over 8 stamping on the backside of the center where the wheel sits against the brake drum.

Thanks for the info Rick.

So what's the scoop on these wheels? I am sure it has been discussed before. What makes this an A12 specific wheel beside the H on the rim? Were these wheels used on anything including hemi cars and they just plopped an H on them and called them a A12 wheel?

The date code would make it possible to be an A12 wheel, the only way it could be an A12 SPECIFIC wheel is if it had the original, factory installed tires still on it, with original 1969 air.

Otherwise NOTHING makes the H wheel A12 specific because that wheel also came on a Hemi car ... and other models including C bodies ... and contrary to popular belief in the A12 world, Chrysler didn't shutdown production of other models for the rest of the model year and only build A12's.

My opinion that's a wheel off a Hemi car ... or other model that could have had it ... it's too early for an A12 ...

It's not an A12 specific wheel. They were used on HEMI, cop-car, taxi, station wagon & others. With a November '68 date - it's too early, odds are it wasn't originally on an A12 car.
