I need to get a drive shaft for the car. Most of the car is back together, engine/trans is in, most of the interior, etc.
The front clip (fiberglass) is not yet on, neither are the bumpers, or front and rear windshields.
Should I just wait until I get the rest of the car together, or can I go ahead and measure? I've not measured for one before, so any advice there is appreciated as well.
Thanks.

I don't have the front yoke. Rear yoke is 1350. I guess I need to get the yoke first, was thinking I would get that through the shop that is building the shaft.

Jack up the rear with the jack under the 3rd member so the suspension is loaded. Get the front yoke and install it all the way into the trans. Have a helper hold the tape measure on the pinion flange. You measure to the front yoke. Subtract 3/4"

Front should be on wheels, or at least jack stands under lower control arms so correct weight is on rear springs. If the jack stands are under the frame rails behind front wheels, rear will not get correct resting height.
