I would stick with the Indy intakes, and myself prefer the Tunnel-Ram intakes. You need a good intake with the 440-1 heads and Indy is just about your only choice.

The Super Victor is a good intake. The Mopar 337 will also work. I've tested all of these intakes on various engines. Read the tech articles on my website and you'll find the data. www.arengineering.com then go to the tech article section.

We ran the stock 64 intake on our 493 with 440-1 heads and it was too restrictive for the displacement. It was originally sized for 413-426 cu-in and at 493 it is kinda like sucking through a straw. When we switched to the 440-25 intake, the car picked up 3 tenths (with no other changes) and now runs 10 flat; 9.94 at 135 best.
