Looking at ordering a set of rod bearings for a 2.200 journal stroker crank. Are the Clevite CB-743 HN the best bearing for this application? Or is there a better chamfered bearing to use? What do you guys run? Thanks

By far the most common and never really an issue. Watch the sizing though, Clevites HAVE NOT been the most consistent bearing over the last few years. Good news is you can oversize or undersize and split bearing sizes very easily with the BBC stuff.

after running the Clevite & the Speed Pro i'm going to stay with the Clevites from now on. the Clevites in my experiance last longer, have also found they're slightly tighter in their clearences too. 0.002 compared to SP's 0.0025. the Speed Pro's i've just taken out had lost their top surface where the last Clevites i removed still looked good to go.

I dont know how hard your getting after it, but I prefer the 743V bearing for the embeddability characteristic. H bearings are unforgiving if your pushing the edge. You can chamfer any bearing yourself with an old rod and a lathe.
