Magnecor 8.5s are hands-down the best wires I've ever put on a car and I have a couple of sets. They cost more but you only have to buy them once.

I am interested in this topic too, i desperatly need some new spark plug wires. I currently have borg warner select plug wires in a 7mm on my crate 360 magnum and i have broken two of them already, not to impressed with them to say the least.
I have been looking at msd super conductors and mallory pro sidewinders and taylor spiro pro's and crane cams 8.5mm fire wire and the crane cams fire wire is what i'm leaning twords the most right now, because they are only 60 bucks, and they are an 8.5mm wire and they have 25 ohms of resistance per foot wich beats msd's 50ohms per foot.
I have alos thought about getting some 8mm napa beldin wires because i have heard good things about them too... but that would run me bout 50 bucks and i figured for ten more bucks i can have some crane cams fire wire in a 8.5mm, has anyone here ran the crane cams fire wire? Would i be better off getting some napa beldin wires with a life time warranty in a 8mm or the crane cams fire wire?

You get what you pay for. A lot of enthusiasts do not need the best of everything. Example.. On a 14 second car, a grommet for a weld might be able to be an inch off, but on a 6 second car, that would surely make a difference. Some cars do not need the expensive wires. Be it MSD, Moroso Ultra40, or Firecores. Some cars it would not make much of a difference. But if you are needing every edge, it is money well spent. For what its worth, here is a small list of some users.
It is not counting the new records held in T/F Funnycar, or T/F Dragster.

I have a set of Taylor Street Thunders on my Charger..just broke one the other day and they aren't that old. Pretty dissapointed with them. Looks like I'm going to put my old MSD super conductors back on.

There is so much talk about different wires but most people don't know the physics behind them.

This is very important: low resistance doesn't necessarily mean you get a higher voltage at the spark plug!!!

Before you decide you should read this: http://www.magnecor.com/magnecor1/truth.htm
and decide for yourself what is true and what is just creative marketing. But keep in mind that magnecor sell plug wire themselves - I have to research a bit further if all claims are indeed true.

"Independent tests, including a test performed by Circle Track Magazine (see May, 1996 issue) in the USA, show that NO "low-resistance" ignition wires for which a horsepower increase is claimed do in fact increase horsepower - the test also included comparisons with solid metal and carbon conductor ignition wires."

JACOBS with ceramic SP boots if you can find them. Buy a universal set and cut to custom fit. Super low resistance and a ceramic boot that can handle the high heat of exhaust manifolds and headers. No wire I have seen other than Accel (who bought Jacobs company years a go) has that type of SP Boot. My experience has been more failures at the SP boot end. I am sure that a lot of previous wire sets are good but Jacobs made Great wires. I had them on all my cars. They were even popular on big heavy RV's. Good luck.

I also run the Taylor Spiro Pros and have had them on my Dart for probably close to 20 years now. If I pull a end off it's easy to recrimp or they'll sell you new ends, crimps, one wire, whatever you need.
They live on the factory 318 in my Dart I daily drove till 2006 and I just started and moved it yesterday and they are still fine.
Glad to hear that they must be still selling them, nicely made wires.

Life's a little bit better when you hit a Camaro.

For a stock or close to stock car, just buy whatever wires are cheap and throw them on. I spent 100 bucks on a set of plug wires and don't think they do any different than the cheapies they replaced.

Yes, but go open your hood in the dark and watch the prety light show. The warranty is good, and you should use it because they are not that great of a product.

Firecore is a great product with great customer service, thanks, Rick! Have them on 3 cars now.

I used Beldens for years at the shop and at home. The last few sets I used about 15 years ago were garbage abd arched like crazy. For a premium wire I wont buy them again. We were usin mostly Autolites at the shop and I installed hundreds of sets with no problems.I would have used Taylors there if I could of had easy access to them. When you can run them on a plow truck that sits for 7 months and only runs in snow and have no problems they are a good wire.Almost all our cars have headers with the Taylors and have never had a problem.Ill have to get a new set next year because mine are looking shabby from age.No problems with them though.Rocky
