The late '70's B Bodies, Cordoba, Magnum, etc. that came with T-Tops...

Did they have any structural bracing under the car ?

Was there a reinforcement panel welded to the underside of the roof ?

Was the T-Top installation done on the assembly line, or afterwards

by an aftermarket installer?

Does anyone have any photos they can post of the interior of the roof

of one of these T-Top cars without the headliner installed ?

FWIW, even in the 80's the FWD daytonas and lasers with t-tops were done by an outside company. Creative Industries, the same company that did the superbirds and daytonas in the muscle era did the t-tops for those cars. I would assume a similar arrangement with the F, B and J body t-top cars. Doesn't sound like chrysler ever did the t-top jobs themselves.

Closest I can come is an F body, 76-80 vintage.

Underside of roof. You can see the front to back reinforcement plate riveted in and the extra cross brace its riveted to, to the rear.

There is also a reinforcement plate riveted to the A pillar. Thats about it for differences from "stock", on an F body anyways.

Thank you for the F body pictures.

Sheds some light on how this was done.

Still looking forward to the B body pictures...

Not sure of the earlier stuff, but FWD Laser/Daytonas were done by Cars & Concepts.

I would still like to see some pictures of the late '70s B body T Top car's interiors with the headliner removed.

Please?

Griz, I had a tree fall against the top I had cut off a car. When I get to getting the tree removed, I'll get ya pictures.

Sorry for the delay. Just been a screaming hectic month

Hoping to get there next week or two. Just been a crazy summer. I'll have to borrow a saw, too big for a handsaw. If I can crawl under it and get in, I'll get it.

Ok, cool.

Chain saws and chippers buzzing all weekend here in my

neighborhood after Thursday's storm.

Been a rough summer.

I'll have to see if my dads 300 still has most of the headliner in it (which I think it does). Send me a pm if I dont respond again, working overnights and heading to bed now.
