your just wanting to put the slap stick into the a- body correct? keep in mind also, e-bodys had a shorter handle than the a-body and might be a little awkward shifting when its in the car. other than that, I would bet that it would bolt in. also check the outer chrome and shift pattern area to make sure it fits nicley threw the console

The console in my Duster hides a B&M Quicksilver ratchet shifter with a stock appearing stick coming out of it. You'd never know unless you tried to drive it.

Jim, I think the easy solution would be to see if you can just use the E body torque shaft.. (the shaft that passes through the floor & connects the shift rods to the shifter & trans) as it would have the proper geometry...
