Where are the 3rd gen Hemi guys finding your motors to start your builds with?
I thought I had a deal setup with a guy off of Craigslist that had a motor that had a noise in it which was perfect since I was going to put a new rotating assembly in it. But his communications resulted in a bunch of text messages with a ***verb that starts with "f" and you this weekend.
Needless to say that deal is off and I would not want to deal with that mental midget for any reason.
I have scoured the local junkyards for a 5.7 but I don't want to spend a ton of money. An aftermarket small or big block is still an option if I don't go this route.
Grrrrr....best laid plans of mice and men.

I have found several 03-08 5.7 hemis on clist. Usually knocking.
Check out lxforums.com too and post a want ad over there.
I actually scored a 6.1 block, drag pack intake, and heads right here on moparts and was a great deal from the gentlemen I bought it off of.
There are deals out there, just have to be looking and know the market.
Steff was selling a drag pack intake. Cheasptreet (sp?) had a running take out too.
dont give up yet!

From my experience a 5.7 pre 09 is about 1000-2200 depending on how complete and mileage.
6.1 long blocks for 3000- and complete engines for 3000-6000. again depends on brand new to how many miles and what all comes with it.
personally a 5.7 block with a stroker would be a good street/strip bracket engine. just my imo, and others can chime in.
the 6.1 is just a bit harder to come by...

Check out Muscle Motors. They just came out with a nice alternative to the Drag Pack Intake. its cheaper too.

I've checked with some of the local Mopar dealers about Hemi cores. Ran into roadblocks where they claimed they send back the engines to Corperate.
Those small block race blocks or a World big blocks are starting to look better and better.
