tried out my new w8 last week and lots of gremlins incuded.Besides too loose of a convertor I have to make the engine work first. My glitch is the top of the 2 toilets are only about 1 inch. from inside top edge off aeroscoop, since new sheet metal intake is much higher than the old single plane.Engine is a real dog off launch till 330' then all hell breaks loose. This is strictly an 1/8 mile car so no other useage applies. Does any body have an idea of what we can add to the scoop area or rig up? I really dont want to chop up my hood but am running out of ideas. thanks guy's

You dont have any options on the scoop... either shorten the intake or raise the scoop.. 1" is way too close... air doesnt like to bent that tight

If it were my car, I would look at putting the single plane back on with one toilet for now. If your desperate to keep the twins on the sheet metal intake, then you have more thinking to do. Maybe switch to Terminators, they will be shorter than toilets.
Or you could trade the car to me for my street/strip '72 Cuda, and your problem is solved.

Somedays almost tempting to trade lol! Nickens built this w-8 for me last year so never had the single on it to dyno even . everthing was new. waterless block and heads etc. just go 660' and coast to the pit was its intention but probably need 3-4" room I'm guessing.thanks man Dave

You would like the tops of the toilets at about 3/4" below the bottom of the scoop opening

A single won't hurt as bad as you might think and it would give you time to sort the bugs out. The real limiting factor is the intake more than the toilet. The other thing is the dragster guys that run those idle and return to the pits on gas. The one guy I pit near uses a N2O plate with a flow control valve on the fuel side, and just idles thru the pits with it using the flow control valve to set the amount of fuel going in. Switches to it right from the drivers seat. Car has two tanks, and says it starts easier and gets to temp easier this way....And we can trade any time. Been looking for a good E-body tube chassis. PM me if interested.

I run the primer plus system on it allready. just cant use it too terribly long as there is no water in this setup.Sorry, cant do the trade thing as this car goes to my grandchild later. Geez! I just about feel as old as Mike {Raff}.

Have you tried running without the hood ,to see if that is your problem?Worth a try before you start cutting up the hood.
Nope last sat. was 1st. day out with this. Next weekend I was going to try the 60' and 330' without the hood for sure. The other gremlins were too large of fuel pump, it was a 1 pump, should have a 01/2 which I think adds to the crap list. we Pilled up from a 80 pill to a 92 then down to a 76 and the only difference was .0003 in all three runs and only .45 of a mph. left the timing at 32 since the dyno last year. Am using a 567 gear with 32x16.5x15 with the glide. thanks man. Dave
