Hey folks,

I have an old set of 1 3/4 CPPA underchassis headers that need some TLC. I have had these on the Dart for years, and my old spray can paint has worn off again and again.

I am taking them off to get new flanges welded on as they have been re-surfaced so many times, they leak no matter what I do.

Will sending them out to get coated NOW after so many years help.

Do I have to get them cleaned up first? If so, What? How?

Thanks

Bryan

As far as I know, the company doing the coating will do the cleaning to their spec's. Jet-Hot coatings tell you to send them your headers as they are, they'll media blast & hot-tank them before coating.

Personally, I'd mke sure they do the prepping, otherwise if the coating fails, they can always blame you for not cleaning them properly

If the headers are still in good shape, I don't see why a good ceramic coating won't help them last even longer
