No vacuum, very lumpy idle and a power band way up in the rpm range. Not a streetable cam.

It's all relative, that one is smaller than the one in my Dart that I drive on the streets.

Depends on what its going in and what you expect it to do.

With the right components..........

it would be fun.

3400+ stall, dual-plane Edelbrock RPM, 750 carb, 4.10 or + gearing, 1.75 or + headers, you get the idea. Match components added and it would scream on the street.

I really like it in my 408 demon. It is a 4 speed, 4.11 gears, mildly lightened. With ootb edelbrock heads, 1 5/8" headers, and an air gap/750dp it quit pulling before 6000 rpm. It is noticably softer on the bottom end than the approx 235*@.050/ .525" lift hydro flat tapppet cam it replaced, which actually makes the car way easier to start and drive in normal traffic- you have to rev it up a little to get to the power. Below the powerband it might not have the torque of the smaller cam but it drives very nice and smooth, no jerking around before the cam hits.

I like it for now and I'm not planning to swap again without going roller.

I m currently running it in my street 440. It will idle between 600-750rpm with good carb tune, lots of lope. I have a single plane and vacuum 2ndarys, It wont roast them from a dead stop with out a lot of rpm, but it will climb as far as you want to take it on the street!

So again, all depends on what your looking for.

just because a car is driven on the street doesn't mean it is a street car.

Any cam will act milder the bigger the engine it is in. More compression helps. Deeper gears help. Stick is easier than an auto. More stall helps. lighter weight helps. ALL of those move it farther from street till you get to "not a street car".

Since you neglected to mention any details about the vehicle, engine, trans, gears etc you cannot expect an answer that is relevant.

It's all relative, no two people are alike in what they consider streetable. My street cam is 288/292@.050, of course my convertor stalls around ~5600 and I run 4.56 gears and the motor is 605ci.Dave

Fit of the cam depends a lot on the rest of the combo... cubes, compression, transmission, rear. Also on applicaiton... mostly strip with a little street or vica versa. Some more info would help.

Ya thats not right, course he had it on a sb so the heads could have been the limit.

On my 440 it is really pulling hard at 6k.

He also asked about the '661' cam so I guess I assumed he was talking about some for of BB.

too small in my 496. how big are you? big engine, go big. that cam in an 8:1 340 would be a turd on the street.

for what is the good life if not doing things thoughtfully?

No it's not a street cam, unless your idea is driving it to the track and racing it and second it will not work well w/ what you have. If i were you I'd look in the 480-490ish range and something around 220 @ .050

I drive a car with that cam almost everyday when its dry out, off 1k idle to 7200 smooth even torque cam. But ive alot more vert and deeper gears.

Its really one of the most streetable cams ive used.

I had a MP 360 shortblock once that I put a 557 in. I had stock Edelbrock heads on it,1 5/8 headers,3000 stall convertor,3.91 gears.
Was in our street/strip Duster.
I drove it to work whenever it was nice out,my wife drove it to the local track every week and ran it in the local points races. Ran a best of 11.79.
The car had 3" exhaust with Flowmaster Delta Flow mufflers. That thing got more compliments and turned more heads on the street due to the way it sounded than anything else I ever had.
Streetability is all dependant on the owner.
As A sidenote,my wife came in second in our street class with it her first year ever racing, the next year she moved up to the Pro class and tied me in points.
