I have a friend with a B&M blower on his chevy 350. it's an old kit from the 80s. the SMALL blower. I think they advertised then as a "underhood" unit. seems they were on every chevy street rod back then. seeing it got me thinking.
my question is, does any company have a kit to put one on a mopar big block? a "bolt on" kit with all the parts...seems like DLI had one many, many years ago, but I havent seen one avaliable lately.

my uncle found the whole kit on ebay but it took him many years and it's the intake that is the trick if you can find that then you can get it done. good luck. If you find one stuff will break on your car so you will have to beef up the whole drive train.

a guy is running one on here...to me it's a tad small and you will probbaly only net 5lbs of boost if that. and that's if it's the larger 471. For almost the same price you can grab a 671 off of e-bay and make a ton more power.

I don't think I'd even bother with a 6-71 on a big block. An 8-71 doesn't cost much more and will make more power at the same boost level. Won't have to spin it as fast and it will run cooler.

Yes I have one on a 440. Its an old DLI kit.
Took a little more work than I planned but its coming around.
Ran a 12.03 @111.44 mph Fri night taking it easy off the line, already broke one driveshaft.
It does EXACTLY what it was advertised to do. Adds about 100hp.
I figure at best my car would run 13.30`s with out it.
Its a STOCK{rebuilt} 440 8.69cr,Stock 10.4 converter,3.55 rear. EST weight 3,800-3,900with driver. New 114c/l .509 cam.
I want to try something bigger......someday.
If you can accept cutting a hood adapting a blower to a 4bbl intake ain`t impossible.
I looked into adapting a Small-Block Chevy intake onto a 440/ SuperStockers did this in the 80`s-90`s when only Chevy`s had good aftermarket intakes.

Oh,,, and it drives and idles like a stocker.
Doubt I could have both with just a strong 440.
Once you play with boost, you`ll want MORE I DO!!!

I've had a turbo 440 since 2001. I'm a boostaholic.

Many times an Offenhauser dual quad manifold is used to make a blower intake- and thats not just mopars. Ive seen Oldsmobiles with the converted Offy. Now even if you get an Offenhogger 2x4 manifold your still looking at $$$$$$$ to get it converted. In the 80s the B&M pamphlet had that blower kit (small chevy) that would bolt to a single 4bbl intake.

Keep old mopars alive.

I was interested in one of those for a long time, but would go for a centrifugal (Paxton style) supercharger. Still if I found one for a good price... I've even got an Offy low dual-quad intake sitting around.

my old 67 coronet and Paxton SN2000. 6 psi of boost picked up almost a second. Best et b4 boost 12.90 (usually high 12.90's 13.0') after boost 12.08 w/ some left on the table. I had about $2200 in the entire set-up, fuel system, carb mods, pipes...
