I have a 64 Fury that currently has a very tired LA 360 installed in place of the stock 318 Poly. I can get a pretty good price on a used magnum 5.2 or 5.9 motor with pretty low miles. What does it take to swap that into the Fury? I plan to use a carb intake and not deal with the fuel injection. What is interchangeable I guess is the question? Will the motor mounts be the same? Will the 727 trans I currently have bolt up? Will the 360 oil pan and pickup bolt to the magnum motor? Does the older distributor fit the magnum motor? I know about needing an electric fuel pump but wondering what I can reuse and what might have to be thought out. Thanks for any help

Everything will bolt up fine except the Intake bolts on the magnum engines goes straight down from above but the LA intake bolts go in at an angle. The Magnum heads can be redrilled or you can get a 4bbl intake for a magnum.

The 5.9 magnum oil pan is the same as the 360 but the 5.2 I have heard differing opinions on them.

I have installed a LA 360 oil pan, pickup and pump on a 5.9 magnum so I know for a fact it fits.

The exhaust ports are different but I believe the LA exhaust will fit. I plan on using a set of Durango headers on mine.

I used my LA timing cover, waterpump, dist, headers, oil pan with LA gasket, oil pump and pickup tube, a B&M flexplate. I used a long snout hyd roller cam so I could use a mechanical pump if I wanted. Magnum 4 barrel intake and a 750 cfm carb. I also used my stock style motor mounts.

76' Volare, 5.9 magnum w/Iron heads. New best 10.68 at 123 mph 1/4 mile.

He brings up a good point. The Magnum engines are balanced differently so you will need a neutral balance Torque convertor and the B&M flex plate.
