Hi all,
I'm building a 68 Charger (non AC) and am having a bit of trouble finding a decent fender mounted heater hose bracket. I just received one purchased from Valley Vintage Auto Parts and it is too small to actually fit two 5/8" heater hoses side by side in the space provided. Is that how the factory built them? Any info on where to find a correct sized repro? Thanks.

This is what I bought -

Shouldn't 68 have the bracket on the valve cover??

68 BB does not use a fender bracket. It uses two brackets - the one like you purchased and one that attaches to the passenger side valve cover. Something like this.......

OK, bracket mounts to the alternator and the hole I see in inner fender is for one of the washer bottle mounting ears. Thanks.

Still, the alternator bracket is too small to get two 5/8" heater hoses inside the loop. Is that normal or did Dodge mash them in the bracket to make them fit?

They fit in tight... put the forward in first and follow with the other. You want them tight but not causing restriction.

The hole for the bracket and the holes for washer bottle are different sizes and in different locations. I believe the picture I posted is of a '66 or '67 b-body which is slightly different in that dept.

Here is a better shot of the installed bracket.
