Anyone ever run their car at the Joliet Autobahn?

Here is a video I found online of a Cougar on the track

Here are some pictures of that Cougar at the Joliet Autobahn track: http://www.mercurycougar.net/forums/garage_vehicle.php?do=view_vehicle&id=81

One more video of that car at the Joliet Autobahn and another video of a 24 hours of Lemons. Why no old Mopars at this track?

Finish yours and there will be.

Are you just going off that video? Maybe it was a Ford themed track day.

Lots of different track days. Doesn't mean there haven't be any old Mopars out there. I've never seen a old Mercury Cougar at the track. But there was two in that video.

I did a few searches on you tube for the Joliet Autobahn and only came up with the typical stuff associared with track events. The only older cars I found on YT at that track were some Musrangs and this Cougar. I do like how the Cougar is set up like a Trans Am car.

Ill have to get my car in more respectable performance level. Probably taking them skyjacker drag racing springs off the back of the car and them 28" tall tiresis going to be a great first step to make this 4000 pounder handle.

I think moparmitch has been there. (Maybe he'll chime in) He's got a 70 T/A clone. And the Sandbergs. (I'm thinking their 67 cuda, maybe their AAR race car, too.)

I wanted to go and check out the One Lap of America event they had back in May. But there was a conflict with a family party.

Bill that would be pretty cool to check the Autobahn out. Did you watch the video of that Cougar I posted?

Pretty cool stuff there.

We have a friend of a friend that does some driving instruction there, I'll have to tag along sometime with him.

I got to take my Cuda on a parade lap there a few years ago when I entered it into a car show they had. There was no speed limit, but we were not allowed to pass the car in front of us...

That's when you slow down to 5mph for a bit, let them get a good lead on you.....

That's what I ended up doing on a few of the turns in the back section

YESSSS!!!! I've raced there with the Midwest Council of Sports Car Clubs (MCSCC), and also the Chicagoland Alfa Romeo Owners Club (CAROC)... the CAROC is a very open-friendly club. I've done hi-speed lapping sessions and hi-speed solo-autocross there. ALSO... I get to be the official "pace car" for the MCSCC's w2w road races on some occasions, including the coming wknd of Oct 6-7, 2012 at the Autobahn... also been pace car at Elkhart Lake Road America. I've been somewhat active with the MCSCC and CAROC just the last 3 years as I've taken my T/A out of hibernation (yes its a detalied clone but highly modified for SCCA E/SP Solo II). Also, there is another good road race track... Blackhawk Farms just north Rockford, IL.

Mopar Mitch "Road racers and autocrossers go in deeper and come out harder!"... and rain never stops us from having fun with our cars... in fact, it makes us better drivers! Check out MOPAR ACTION MAGAZINE, August 2006 issue for feature article and specs on my autocross T/A!
