I have a 440. Would int. timing of 14' be a problem on starting? It has to crank over 7 or 8 times before firing. THANKS

If you're talking about the starter not being able to turn it over, I believe 14 degrees btdc is not going to be a problem. (esp if using lightweight starter)

No. Electronic ignition or points? Can you measure the voltage at the positive terminal of the coil both when the key is on and when you are cranking the motor, and post the results? It should be around 12 when cranking(start 2) and 7 or 8 volts when on(start 1).

You've been a member for a long time, so you're probably a young-gun who has never driven a carbed engine before (unlike many of this same type of question). That said, I need to ask- How often do you run it? Or maybe a better way to ask it is- how much time between starts?
