The question was if the vin tag is removed is the vin number any where else on the truck? Thanks "quickd100" you were right on. On my 2 trucks its on the outside facing edge of the drivers side frame rail about 3" back from the front bumper. One truck its stamped very nice the other pretty crappy but its there.

i would check inside the drivers door--1 look on post in front of door by the hinges---2 look on the back edge of door next to door latch---3 look on post at back of door near latch---the 56 car i had was at position #1--the 71 truck i have is at #3---the 75 ramcharger is at #2----bob

If I remember right the serial # is also stamped on the framerail drivers side front couple feet of the frame.Dave

probably embarrasing to admit----i was so enamored with a govt tag on my 71 i didnt see the actual vin plate then found out some clerk turned the ones into I,s in recording the vin number----what a stinkin mess---surprisingly the original clerk recognized her initials from 25 years before and fixed it for me---bob
