Will 426 HEMI bell housings work on 440's. In '69 I am showing 2 different numbers for the same body and engine, 2892624 and 2892626, why is this.
Is there anything I should watch out for when selecting a bellhousing? So many types to choose from. Line can I put one from a C or E body into a B body.

The hemi bellhousing before 1970 uses a 172 tooth flywheel and a hard to find and expensive direct drive starter , I wouldn't put one behind a 440 .

Any bellhousing that fits an E body , and or a C body, would work in your B body. The C bodies that had 4 speeds were usually pre 68 and they use the small diameter , 4.35 ", retainer so you need to watch out for that depending on what transmission you use.

How is the flywheel tied to the bellhousing? also how big a deal would it be between a 10.5 and 11" clutch an a 440 and does it matter which bellhousing I use?

The pre 68 Bellhousing is cast iron , has the 4.35 reatiner hole and uses a 130 tooth flywheel . A 10.5 or a scalloped 10.95 clutch is what fits with it.

68/69 uses a cast iron bell wit ha 4.80 reatiner hole and takes a 143 tooth wheel , it uses a true 11" clutch unless you have an aftermarket wheel that has a 10.5 and 11" pressure plate pattern.

The 70 up bellhousing is alumiunm wit ha 4.80 retainer hole and uses a 130 tooth wheel, 10.5 and scalloped 10.95 clutch.

Depending on the HP , the 105 should work fine , 10.95 would be the safe choice .

All these bellhousings take the same chrysler starter and will work with a mini starter.

Can you get the 11" flywheel in 18 or 23 splines? I was reading that the "4.80" bellhousings were for "hemi" transmissions. So I was thinking that maybe the flywheel is 18 spline.

Flywheels have no splines, bolt hole but no splines Same thing on the pressure plates, bolt holes with no splines The clutch discs come with either 18 or 23 splines

Thats what I meant, can you get an 11" disc (clutch disc) in 23 or 18, I guess the answer is yes.

Whats a fair price for a factory 11" pressure plate.
