havnt started the beast in a few months so i pulled it out and went around the block when i got back i had oil all over thw front and rear of the block and alot of soke from the breather (blueish ). the motor is a 500 strocker with eddy victor max heads and 2 4bbl carbs. the manifold sits up abit so a valley pan was made from a stock pan gasket.it dosnt seem to make alot of vacume and the cam is a 550 crower mechanical. Im at odds and I need sugestions before i take it apart thanks before hand.

Do a leak down compression test, with the cylinder at TDC, put in 80 psi and see what it holds. Listen to where the air is escaping the combustion chamber, if you hear it in the oil filler cap, its rings, etc. Tim

It sounds like you have effective breathers on it so normal crank pressure and blow by should not be a problem. Is this the first time it did this? Did anything change? How new or old is the engine?

Simple things to check: does the breather have a baffle or splash plate in the valve cover? Without the baffle normal spirited driving can blow out oil. What is the oil level and how does it look and smell? Any sign of gas in the oil or rapid clouding or blackening of the oil?

there is baffles in the valve covers ,no oil is coming from them its comming out of the valley pan ,the eddy heads sit high and there is a gap there .you can just see it in the pic.the problem is that i get pressure from the fill cap on the drivers side. the motor was used but im not sure if there was many miles on it I havnt driven ths more than 5 miles and its a problem that just started.could it be a valve ajustment problem im running t$d adjustable rockers and a solid cam?

Valve adjustment isn't going to cause that. Pull the intake are reseal the valley .

thanks that was going to be my first step,I plan to buy or make a solid valley pan to replace the rigged up one that the motor shop used.
