How does the remote mirror bezel nut hold the mirror adjuster to the door? I have the bezel nut and another piece that has a tab that goes into a smaller hole in the door. Does this other piece go from inside the door or the outside? When its on the outside the nut doesnt seem to hold the adjuster to the door and i cant tighten it any more. Its been awhile since i took it off and i cant remember which way it goes. Thanks

You didn't say what kind of car, but perhaps it doesn't matter. On my '72, the control mounts on the inside of the door, through the hole in the door made for it. There is a steel clip which fits over the threads on the adjuster control, to hold the control on the door while the upper interior door panel is assembled on the door. Then once the interior door panel is on, the chrome bezel nut goes on.

HTH,
Marq

oh sorry its a 67 dart. That seems about the same as mine except the door panel doesnt go to the top of the door. But the attachment seems to be the same thought. That is the way i have mine but it does not seem to hold the control in place in the door. i cant seem to get the bezel nut tight enough because ive already bottomed out the threads on the control. I must be doing something wrong cause this should be pretty simple to do.
