This has been popping up on my motor for the last 2 years and I cant figure it out. During a full throttle pass (street or strip) the throttle sticks open. Makes for a exiting slowdown at the end of the track. I have checked the carbs (dual eddy 800's) and they appear fine. Springs are correct, butterfly's close all the way, no clearance problems.....sticks open about 4k rpm and I have to flutter the pedal to bring it back down (sometimes it does not want to come down)This is a new 496 (under 300 mi).

Anyone ever had this happen to them?

Some times the carb linkage and throttle cable need a little WD 40 to help free them up. If that does not solve your problem, check and make sure your linkage at full throttle is not over center(BINDING)some time with dual carbs you have to play around with the adjustment to get them to work freely.

i wouldn't be surprised if that engine is moving a lot more than you think it is. that sticking under load is a clue- run with it.

"Springs are correct"

Springs are 90° to the throttle lever at WOT?

Well, I believe thay are correct. This is a Max Wedge setup. I will have to check to see if they are 90 deg.
WHat should I look for with the secondaries??
