Looking into alum blocks I heard something about cam bearings with Indy blocks but not sure if it was bs or not. Looking for guys that use them for real world experience.
I been told the Indy block doesnt have bushed lifter bores and still needs some other work done to it, I went with World aluminum block and it came with bushed lifter bores i havent got it yet as Muscle Motors is doing the short block for me.

only had to hone to final size & deck the block & tap all the threads to the bottom of the holes & it was all go. for safety i enlarged all the main oil feeds. now that my combo all works together i'm very happy with my purchase.

I had one and it was very poor casting quality... ![](/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/down.gif) My latest motor I went with a Kieth Black alum block and it was great!! ![](/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thumbs.gif) Ken Black is also much better to deal with. ![](/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/bow.gif) Go KB, and don't look back! ![](/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/Twocents.gif) Good luck, Arnie

KB here. Excellent product and great after sales service. We have had no probs with the plain aluminium lifter bores in 6 seasons, we never optioned lifter oiling either.

I own 2 Indy Maxx aluminum blocks 1 Rb deck height the other is milled down to LD height. Both of mine and quite a few more I have seen have all been Hi Quality,I guess you can get a bad one in any after market block like someone in a above post stated. I have seen both dry & wet block KB blocks and they also appear to be Hi Quality blocks. They are beefed up more than the Indy blocks which if needed should be a +,but if the extra strength was not needed then due to the increase weight it would be a -. ![](/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/Twocents.gif)

Bought my Indy around 2000. There was a water leak, porousity, which I fixed by drilling a hole, threading and installing a plug. Other than that, no problems so far. Have dynoed 1580 hp at 6100 rpm and now hopefully making more, so at least it doesn't blow up immediately at that point. I have also seen world blocks and KB's, actually building two KB's at the moment. I have no problem using any of them, each one has nice features that the others don't have. I would have no problem with any of them, unless very unlucky.
