Being that you shouldnt run faster than 11.50... I would cut some wood blocks of assorted thickneses to tape to the bottom of the gas pedal... and set it up for 11.45 or so then dial 11.50 and pedal it

yeah I was thinking of taking some timing out, or shifting at 5800, or something else to slow it down. I'd like to run it hard 3/4 track and lift, but that'd be hard to judge and be consistant. The wood would (that's funny) be a decent and quick way to do it.

Don't worry about it. Run it all out. It's going to be so hot and humid you'll probably be 3 tenths off anyway.

I am lucky to win 27 times in mostly Chevy and Ford races. The way I look at it is not set it up all out I use the small tires I could get away with,Eddy RPM,small street roller cam 308",4000 stall,511"er shift@5700 runs 6.40s 1/8 with 1.40 to 1.42 with 60ft with 456 gears. 850DPer/SD intake helps reaction time.I will try an 1150 holley& a Team G.~~ Bent

i would think most tracks (if they're paying attention) are going to boot you if you run under 11.5 anyhow so that being the case i would try to set it up to run 11.50s
Mason Dixon will adjust your dial right before you stage during first round if they see insufficient safety gear for the dial.
Am I supposed to say "don't ask me how I know" now?
Boy that would pi$$ you off !

I always run the car flat out and see how fast it is running that day. Then I dail right at my fastest et and try to cut a good lite and win. My car is usually pretty consisdent and I figure it will run within a few hundreths of my best et. So if I cut a bad lite I will loose anyway. But if I have them covered in eliminations I will hit the brake and slow it down. Good luck as I want to go but dont know if I can make it. Ron
I'm with Ron, I've always tryed to run it flat out the same every round.(of course I'm no track champion, I've found dozens of ways to loose)Dave
