I have installed 3 March serp systems and every one of them seems to have issues with the power steering pumps supplied by March. This is the billet cased Saginaw pump that they offer in their kit. Leaks abound but more concerning to me right now is that they seem to run way hot. I am using royal purple power steering fluid in my Charger and the billet cap is so hot I can't touch it. It looks as though the fluid is getting overheated and foamed up or just burnt. It's a beautiful install but I want to drive the damn thing not just look at it! After About twenty minutes of driving I can feel the wheel skip in my hand like it is low on fluid but it is not.

Anybody else experienced issues with March pumps or similar products?

n the process of completeing the transition from manual to power steering. I'm using the March pump, but I'm installing a PS cooler inline also. I've heard your complaint before and already working around it. The March case Looks good, but the case is too thick to allow for cooling is my guess.

I'd like to see your install when done. I have considered the addition of a cooler but figured the aluminum case from march should dissipate heat pretty well. Seems like it pressures up and has no relief. The one we did on my buddys stroked small block 'Cuda leaked real bad where the case sealed to the pump...resealed it twice now. First call to March was told to run some special fluid, next time told fluid must be airrating due to leak in return line or something..pretty dissappointing frankly

Does anybody have pics of cooler setups they might have used on their cars? I am thinking this might be the route for me to try but really want to keep it looking nice.

here's a link to a pic of the coolers that came on dodge dakotas.
They were used with saginaw steering pumps. I'm using the march pump as well. Let me know if you need help. I have a good friend at march who may be able to help.

Let me see if I can fetch him for ya...
