how are the current throttle cable's quality? I remember a while back, there were issues with the lead ball being too small, or not a good enough crimp? are some vendors better than others? im looking for a 71 b-body small block.. thanks

I was able to get a fairly accurate E body cable at AutoZone for around $25. Differences were the square plastic piece that fits into the firewall was slightly smaller and not quite as tight as factory. My factory cable had two metal sleeves where it connects to the carb. One for clamping into the throttle cable bracket and one that was at the end of the cable where it connects to the carb. A/Z only had the one that is used for clamping. FWIW it got me back on the road.
edit: I take that back, both sleeves are there.
