The Charger has the same problem. Damn CA and the vapor recovery crap. I have to hold the nozzle out of square to allow a gap for the vapors to escape.

Better yet wait until it goes and splashes back all over the side of the car!

I just try to get it in as far as I can, usually holding the pump upside down. Then pump REAL SLOW.

Now I need to pin those needles, got to feel that heat

With the Challenger I had to invert the nozzle. (upside down)

I've a '67 GTX & have the same problem. I found if I hold the pump handle down (the nozzle is up against the top of the filler neck), keep the nozzle partially in (the pump's pollution device is not fully seated, but seated enough to allow the pump to work) & pump real slow,I can get the tank filled up. Takes forever to fill up the tank though.

Same here in Florida on my '88 Gran Fury. Didn't seem to start until I got a new tank...maybe just coincidence but it is very annoying. Can't fill it all the way sometimes, and likes to splash back on paint and all over my hand so I can smell it for hours. Aggravating. Just did it today and I was pumping real slow.

Facts are stubborn things.
