hey folks i have a 1967 belvedere i recently had the trans rebuilt but i have a very small leak somwhere in the unit. after sitting overnight there is a small puddle on the garage floor it appears that the leak is coming from around the speedometer cable is there supposed to be some sort of seal on this cable i dont remember one when i disassembled the car thanks for any info

There is a small lip seal inside the adapter that the cable threads onto, it's possible that your rebuilder didn't replaced it and fluid is leaking into the cable housing.

You can see the seal in the pic below held in place by a wire ring.
