Well, Can ya?

Yes I have 3" studs on the car, No I don't have any Dog Dish Caps yet.

It's a 70 Charger, 15x7 and 15x8 Steel Wheels...

Thanks all

I had 3" studs on the back of my Duster and the dog dishes fit over them perfect!

Try it and see if they fit. If not, cut the studs down a little to allow the hub cap to fit.

There is NO requirement the car have 3" studs. The NHRA rule is the studs have to extend through the face of the wheel at least the diameter of the stud (with washer installed if used). So a 1/2" stud must have at least 1/2" exposed once the wheel and washer is on (before installing the lug nuts).

If you ONLY run the steel wheels, the stock studs are adequate for racing. The longer studs are needed when aftermarket wheels are used which have a thicker center section.

They do on my '68 Roadrunner. That said, 3" studs are a PITA as far as removing & installing the rolling stock if the car has smaller wheel openings, so for steel wheel cars or where the excess length isn't needed, I like 2" studs.
I also prefer the dog-point ends to having the threads all the way to the tip; easier to start the nuts.
