my total timing is currently all in by 2000rpm on my indy headed 408,but does that really matter if i'm using a 5400 8" vert since the engine is'nt fully loaded til 5400rpm? would their be anything to gain by having total all in by 3000-4000 using this stall speed?

I set my BB up to have all the timing in by 1600 RPM, did the same thing on NHRA SB stocker motors. That has works well on both types of motors as well as on Hemi motors

You wont see any difference if you are never in that
rpm range... I use advance in my dist and its all in
by 1400-1600 rpm but I use it mainly to retard for
starting

ok,but it does'nt seem like it would make any real difference with the advance all in early vs closer to the stall speed. i'll leave mine where its at for now.
