hey folks i have a chance to buy a crate 5.7 hemi engine with the wire harness anc computer for 4400 bucks my question is is this the best way to go it is a 2008 engine with the variable displacement should i look for an older model engine im wanting to install it in my 67 belvedere with the 727 that i am using now im trying to learn as much about the conversion as i can prior to making any purchases thanks for any help

I think the crate motors are easier to install, I did it several years ago.

what about the variable displacement does that make a difference in the instalation

I'm thinking harness, ecm, and extra sensors. But if it comes with everything needed it'll be about the same. I also kinda worry about tranny mating issues with the ecm. New vs old tranny and associated tranny sensors, I've seen previous posts about that and it was a real PITA.

There is quite a bit of info on this swap now. I was considering it and I found good info by searching with google.
