I have a brand new 727 TCI streetfighter trans put it in three days ago and have been babying it. The kickdown was set corectly that i was sure of. Now it wont kickdown. It will shift down from D to 2nd but not 2nd to first. It wont start out in first either. The only way to get it into first gear is put the car in park then quickly shift to first. Think this is a governor prob?

So you have no first gear if you manually shift to low ?

Manual low doesn't use the low roller clutch "sprague". If it backs up and goes forward in 2nd and 3rd all your clutches and bands are functioning. I would think it's a valve body issue.

Seeing that this is my only form of transportation these days i drove it this morning and it magically fixed itself. It still makes me wonder what it was that caused the issue

The word is sprag. It should really be called an overrunning clutch.
It's not a brand name of capacitor, which is what Sprague is.

PS: Every single "magically fixed itself" problem that I have ever had has come back and bitten me, hard.

Shift linkage ajustments will act like that, especailly aftermarket floor shifters

if the sprag let go it won't bite up that high if the front drum come thru the floor .

slowly accelerat up to about 15miles an hour , shifter in drive, then let off the gas , does the car slow down or appear to freewheel ?
