I have a 1969 440 in a Dodge Coronet, I just rebuilt the carb, I was wondering, how many turns do I make on the idle mixture screws for the initial start of the car. Does anyone have any tips on how to tune the carb.
The engine is stock, it has a 727 auto and 3:23 non posi gears.

Thanks, Kurt

OE AVS? I think it's 1&1/2 turns out from lightly seated on each mixture screw for starters on carters

Carter performance book says out 1.5 to 2 turns. Adjust for the highest RPM or vacuum using a gauge.
